DNV equipped the customer with its Portfolio manager live system to monitor a portfolio across the USA.

DNV has provided detailed performance monitoring for a large US portfolio since 2011 to the present. The 23 site ‘live portfolio’ is split over 14 projects. The scope has included:

  • Turbine types vary across projects, including Gamesa, GE, Mitsubishi, Siemens and Vestas.
  • Auto control functionality used to enforce compliance with grid requirements.
  • Utility can automatically set power setpoint requirements through an OPC interface.
  • Live data feeds to the Utility provided by WindHelm.
Outcome
Experience of providing Portfolio manager live for use in a real-time control centre. A range of turbine types are displayed and controlled using a common interface.
