On June 20th Energeia will organize the Energeia Energy day: the event for the Dutch energy professional. DNV GL is proud to be lead sponsor of this event. Register here to join us.
DNV GL will be hosting 2 parallel sessions in the afternoon. Our topic is ‘The value of the energy transition for the Netherlands’.
The Dutch climate debate is rather dominated by the discussion about the costs and the role of Dutch industry. The transition to a sustainable energy supply is also a source of economic opportunities and innovations. What makes our country so special and how can we create a strong home market for sustainable technology and become an internationally leading exporter of sustainable technology?
But, aren't we sometimes too nationally oriented when we look at the opportunities and possibilities of the energy transition? What can we learn from other European countries? Do's and don'ts? Technologically, but also when it comes to market facilitation and financing?
In 4 presentations, divided over the 2 parallel sessions, we look at concrete opportunities offered by the energy transition, from an international perspective:
- Erik Klooster –DirectorVNPI
In November 2018, DNV GL carried out the study "CO2 reduction for the Dutch refineries" for the Dutch Petroleum Industry Association (VNPI). What is the situation and how does the VNPI view the international competitive position? Opportunities? Threats? What else is needed? (link)
- Martijn van Koten – Executive Vice President Operations at Borealis
Sustainability as an export product for the Netherlands? From the point of view of a foreign multinational: what do people expect from Dutch industry?
- Blanca Losada - President van Fortia Energia
A case study of Spanish trader Fortia Energia, owned by the most important Spanish industrial players. How do they benefit from a high share of renewables in the mix? Lower energy prices due to a high share of solar PV? What could be the options for the Netherlands?
- Ab van der Touw– Chairman of commission level playing field climate agreement
Costs and opportunities of the energy transition for the industry: what is the potential and how do you set up effective policy?
