We forecast substantial growth of solar photovoltaics (PV) to become a major contributor to the energy supply in 2050, rivaling oil in magnitude. We foresee PV providing around a third of the world’s electricity by 2050. The widespread adoption of PV brings many new opportunities (e.g. solar combined with storage and through the rise of distributed generation installations and micro-grids). How to select the right solar projects? Where are the biggest opportunities and which risks are involved? And how to deal with it? Join us in our breakfast event with inspiring examples, cases and best practices.

BREAKFAST SESSION
Following previously organized energy breakfast events, in this session DNV GL, with contributions from Shell and Greenchoice/Kieszon, will guide you through the most important aspects when investing in solar projects. Of course, there is plenty of room for questions and interaction with experts.

PROGRAM

  • Sander Overgaag van Shell (Project Manager New Energies ) will talk about the opportunities, risks and challenges Shell sees in investing in utility scale Solar PV projects.
  • Erik Snijders (commercial manager) and Daan de Haas (investment manager) from Greenchoice (KiesZon) will inspire why Greenchoice chooses for solar and demonstrate how KiesZon brings this into reality.
  • Solar Senior Paul Raats from DNV GL elaborates on best practices in current megawatt PV projects. Paul highlights the commonly faced risks in: energy production estimates, technical considerations for the  component failures reserves, network connection delay, PV module delivery delays and sector adolescence

JOIN US
We offer you this platform where various stakeholders with interests in the energy industry will meet and share insights and best practices. We have invited a small and select group of people - for optimal interaction - coming from the finance industry, from utilities and of course project developers. There will be plenty of room for discussion and networking over coffee in a relaxed setting.
