DNV GL Software is offering a NEW complimentary fixed structure workshop. The focus of this workshop is to guide engineers with no or limited knowledge in Sesam on how it can speed up their work to do ULS and FLS of fixed structures. The lecturers have extensive background in engineering of jackets and topsides.

The workshop is designed to fit your schedule since a total of 6 classes will be held on Fridays in our Katy Office. The classes are broken into 4hr blocks so you can pick and choose which topics you want to attend. You can either come to all the classes and work through the entire process starting from a blank page, or attend the classes of higher priority. DNV GL will provide all necessary material needed for each session.

This is a hands-on workshop using PC’s. We have some PC’s that attendees can use, but it is preferred that you bring your own laptop. We will provide a training license for those who choose to bring their own laptop, but require prior notice.

This work shop will consist of analyzing a jacket and a topside in Sesam (see agenda for details). Topics included, but not limited to:

  • Modeling technique of the jacket structure
  • Pile/Soil modeling and Static analysis
  • Code checking of members, joints and piles
  • Earthquake analysis and code check based on API RP 2A (Strength level)
  • Spectral fatigue analysis due to the wave condition
  • Installation analysis of the topside and the jacket

We are very excited to be offering our time and expert resources to help improve our clients with the best service possible and look forward to seeing all of you in October and November!
