Barges roll excessively & jack-up feeder vessels require multiple component lifts, with low wind-speed limits leading to significant waiting on weather delays.

The DNV GL “Twisties” concept allows RoRo transfers of complete turbines in a single operation and rapid sea-fastening using standard 20ft container-spaced “twistlocks”. A Fast Feeder Vessel could bring enough components out to supply several WTIVs and the system has potential to be faster and cheaper than conventional offshore wind farm installation methods.
