Virtual Plant user conference 2020 - APAC

Plant ecosystem

Join us at our DNV GL's Virtual Plant user conference 2020

Registration for the virtual Plant user conference 2020 is now open!

All of us at DNV GL continue to send you our very best wishes in these unique and challenging times. The health and safety of our customers and our colleagues is our number one priority. We are continually adapting the delivery of software and services in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis to demonstrate that care and our commitment to service.

Travel restrictions and social distancing remain prudent for the foreseeable future so DNV GL is bringing our Plant user conference to you!

We look forward to gathering in Decemeber and aim to deliver everything you love about this conference, albeit virtually. By the end of the conference you will learn about new tools and techniques for using our software, and gain perspective on current trends. And, as always, there will be plenty of opportunities to pick the brains of our team through the live chat and Q&A sessions.

The learning and networking experience will be spaced over 2 days with sessions dedicated to:

Please mark your calendars for:

  • 1 December - 3:00 PM - 5:15 PM SGT
  • 2 December - 3:00 PM - 5:15 PM SGT

In this seminar, we'll share how you can apply technology to advance process safety management in all stages of design and operation. And provide insights on how you can use computational fluid dynamics tools to address industrial problems related to the dispersion of hazardous matter, fire and explosion safety. This event will also kick off our series of activities over the coming months where we invite you, our clients to share topics of interest on areas we can further dive into to help you get the most value from your software investment.

Over the coming weeks, you'll receive agenda updates and highlights, along with registration information. Be sure to bookmark this page and check back often for agenda updates.

Day 1

1 December

Welcome, introductions, sharing outlook from the Product Center

Speaker

Nic Cavanagh

Vice President and Head of Plant Ecosystem, DNV GL

Roadmap for risk products

This session will highlight major improvements in the next version of Phast/Safeti (version 8.4) and discuss future integration with KFX/Exsim.

Speaker

James Pickles

Product Owner - Risk Products

Using Phast results in 3D world

The premise of the presentation was to address the critical need for risk engineers to extend their typical analytical domain in ways to improve their interpretation and presentation of the modelling results.  Specifically, the presentation addresses a reasonably simple method for adapting the 2-dimensional modelling results from Phast into a 3-dimensional context to improve the ability of the engineers to interpret the physical consequences and also to present these results to non-engineering decision makers to aid them in comprehending the consequences.

Speaker

Phil McKenzie

Principal Consultant - Safety & Risk, RPS Energy

Adding value to Offshore QRA case study using Safeti Offshore

Safeti Offshore provides a formal, structured and systematic approach for conducting an offshore QRA analysis. In this session, we will present a case study using Safeti Offshore for carrying out QRA, FERA and EERA for topside and subsea releases.

Speaker

James Pickles

Product Owner - Risk Products, DNV GL

KFX-Exsim for safety assessment of Hydrogen refueling stations

In this session, we present the background of safety assessment of hydrogen facilities, including experiences from the Norwegian hydrogen industry’s risk based approach. We will demonstrate how a KFX-Exsim analysis can improve the understanding of various accident scenarios and help ensure safe design and operation.  (Paper was also presented at the AICHe Center for Hydrogen Safety US Conference 2020 in September).

Speaker
