The International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships' Ballast Water and Sediments (BWM) is a major undertaking for the maritime industry.

This webinar - relevant for all stakeholders affected by the BWM Convention - will provide you answers to the following questions:

  • The International BWM Convention will be on the agenda at the IMO MEPC (71) in July – What is being discussed and what are the possible consequences for the installation dates of Ballast Water Treatment systems?
  • Regardless of the outcome of MEPC (71), the Convention will enter into force on 8 September, mandating compliance with D-1 exchange standard. To avoid difficulties with Port State Control, which actions are needed to comply?
  • Ballast Water and the USCG - what is the present status?

In addition, the webinar will contain a Q&A session.

Your presenters will be Eirik Nyhus - Director, Environment - International Regulatory Affairs, Stian E. Sollied, Business Development Manager and Ingrid Sigvaldsen, Engineer, Environmental protection, all DNV GL - Maritime.
