Join us for our next workshop focused on floating structure design using Sesam!


The focus of these workshops is to guide engineers with limited or no experience in Sesam through the design of a floating structure.  This series of workshops will focus on the global design of a simple barge using the various tools in Sesam.

These workshops will consist of analyzing a barge transporting a topside in Sesam. Topics included, but are not limited to:

  • Global modeling in Genie
  • Hydrodynamic analysis and load transfer in HydroD
  • Linear static analysis and dynamic loads
  • Global allowable stress checks, beam code-checks, and plate buckling
  • Local Modeling
  • Mooring Analysis using Sesam Marine

This is a hands-on workshop with limited access to PC's, but you are welcome to bring your own. We will provide a training license for those who choose to bring their own laptop, but require prior notice. Lunch will be at noon. 

The workshops are designed to fit your schedule with multiple classes which will be held on Fridays at our Katy Office. The classes are broken into 4 hour blocks so you can pick and choose which topic sessions you want to attend. You can either come to all the classes and work through the entire process starting from a blank page, or attend the classes of higher priority. DNV GL will provide all necessary material needed for each session.
