On the 1st of July 2015 the EU-MRV Regulation (Monitoring, Reporting, Verification) entered into force. What does this mean for shipping companies berthing vessels in European ports?
All ship owners and operators will have to monitor and report the verified amount of CO2 emitted by their vessels on voyages to, from and between EU ports. Information such as fuel consumption, cargo loads and energy efficiency parameters will also need to be provided.
Impact and practical meaning of the regulation
In this webinar, we explained the regulation and the impact in terms of requirements for shipping companies. The practical meaning was shown using the example of our fleet performance management solution.
The presenters were Torsten Mundt from DNV GL´s Environmental Research & Development department, who is an expert on emissions regulations, and Erik Heller from our Fleet Performance Management team.
All future fleet performance management webinars will be made available at performance.dnvgl.com. There you can also dive deeper into the topic and see our solution in action.
