The decision of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to limit the sulphur content of ship fuel from 1 January 2020 to 0.5 per cent worldwide, and the recently adopted ambition to reduce green house gas emission by 50% up to 2050 have the potential to become game changers. 

This situation has created an atmosphere of uncertainty across the shipping industry regarding the direction to take in terms of future energy sources.
