The company was recognised for its exceptional performance within the industry by the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) at the prestigious award ceremony.

DNV GL was up against four other companies, and was highly commended for their diverse services in a range of industries such as energy, oil and gas, petrochemical, aviation and healthcare. Many of their current strategic research programmes received extremely positive recognition, all displaying creativity to solve customer problems. Projects include, on a global basis, researching Arctic risks for oil and gas exploration and production, managing the future supply of energy, and healthcare research to promote patient safety.

This year, the company is celebrating its 150th anniversary and provides a broad range of services to assist businesses in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks. Their main areas of expertise lie within asset, enterprise, operational, sustainability and project investment risk, and the company has a strong focus on creative problem solving and innovation.

Nearly 400 participants attended the awards ceremony, hosted by Michael Jackson, at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London on Thursday 27 February.

With a cross-continent judging panel comprising over 30 leading risk management practitioners and academics, and entries submitted from across the globe, the awards represent the pinnacle of achievement for risk professionals and organisations.

Hari Vamadevan, DNV GL’s regional manager for UK and Southern Africa said, “We are extremely grateful to be recognised by IRM for our contribution to the risk management industry over the past year, and are delighted to have been selected as the winner in our category. Through our strong relationships with customers and risk professionals, we have built a strong and sustainable business with a reputation for quality and integrity.
