SGB's new transformer has been thoroughly assessed to ensure the quality of the product relating to safety, functionality and quality that are needed for use in the tough environment of wind turbines.
Hamburg, Germany, January 2017 - DNV GL, the world’s largest resource of independent energy experts and certification body, has awarded Starkstrom - Gerätebau GmbH (SGB) with component certification for its latest transformer. The transformer type DTTH1NG 2500/30, 50 Hz has been developed specifically for use in wind turbines.
The transformer has been certified according to DNV GL’s Guideline for the Certification of Wind Turbines (GL-IV-I) and been delivered to a very tight deadline, DNV GL’s team of experienced technical experts managed together with customer’s engineers to go through the entire certification process and issue the certificate within two months. During this process, the component has been thoroughly assessed to ensure the quality of the product relating to safety, functionality and quality that are needed for use in the tough environment of wind turbines. Furthermore, it will simplify and speed up the overall certification process of new wind turbines for the manufacturers.
