DNV GL presents award to shipowner Oskar Wehr for its environmental management system

DNV GL has recognized Oskar Wehr’s commitment to sustainability and quality management and recently awarded the German shipowner with the standards ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Olaf Quas, Global Head of Practice ISM/ISPS/MLC, 2006 at DNV GL – Maritime, presented the certificate to the company’s CEO Thomas Wehr at their Hamburg headquarters.

“These ISO certificates confirm the efficiency of our internal operating procedures. We are working with DNV GL to continually search for possible improvements and to increase customer satisfaction,” said Thomas Wehr.

Oskar Wehr had previously undertaken to comply with the ISO standards voluntarily, while enhancing work processes and the sustainability of its fleet. “Oskar Wehr has been very proactive in optimizing internal operations and we look forward to continue working closely with them in the future,” explained Olaf Quas.

DNV GL awards these internationally recognized certificates for the introduction of and compliance with quality and environmental standards. ISO 9001 confirms the highest standard of quality management, whereas ISO 14001 rewards a company’s efforts to build its commercial operations while recognizing its environmental responsibilities.
