DNV GL to speak at the European Accreditation (EA) virtual conference

The pandemic is forcing a more rapid digitalization of accreditation and conformity assessment than anticipated. The November 26 conference will explore “Accreditation in light of Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence and Digitalisation”.

Even before 2020 posed the ultimate challenge to companies and organizations worldwide, businesses were pushed to find ways to embrace digital transformation.  The ongoing pandemic has forced the issue in multiple ways, forcing companies to respond on many levels.

Luca Crisciotti, CEO of DNV GL - Business Assurance, will speak on the issue together with three others, including Andreas Mitrakas from ENISA, Kilian Gross from European Commission (DG CNECT) and Jeff-Ruddle from UKAS. Together they will share insight on the latest developments in the area of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and the impact of digitalization on conformity assessment and accreditation.

In his speech “Digitalisation: New developments related to conformity assessment”, Luca Crisciotti will share practical examples of how businesses are already advancing the role of standardization, assurance and independent parties to enable innovation, drive progress and build trust.

“Conformity assessment and accreditation has always been about trust between different parties and stakeholders.  Trust in a digital world is equally, if not even more, necessary and complex. The opportunities offered by digitalization also creates large trust gaps that must be bridged. While this may seem contradictory, the good thing is that digital assurance solutions can build the necessary trust in safe and sustainable ways,” explains Luca Crisciotti.

The 3-hour virtual conference takes place on Thursday 26 November from 14-17 CET. To participate, register at the EA website.

The conference is hosted by EA who is the European co-operation for Accreditation. As a non-profit organization, it’s 50 members are the National Accreditation Bodies (NAB) officially recognized by their national governments to assess and verify against international standards and organizations that carry out conformity assessment activities such as certification, verification, inspection, testing and calibration.
