Statutory: In 2010, the IMO adopted MSC.1/Circ.1353, a revised guideline for the preparation of cargo securing manuals (CSM), as referred to in Appendix 2 of the Code of Safe Practice for Cargo Stowage and Securing from 2011.
Compared to the previous MSC/Circ.745, new requirements were introduced which include a record book for maintenance of lashing gear and the cargo safe access plan (CSAP). The CSAP is only required for vessels with keel-laying date on or after 1 January 2015.
Approval status of newly submitted CSM
