Hong Kong based ship owner and manager Tai Chong Cheang Steamship Co (HK) Limited has chosen to implement DNV GL’s ECO Insight fleet performance management solution to improve the performance of their entire fleet of tankers and large bulk carriers.
“Through nearly 100 years of operation TCC has been dedicated to our core values and principles that reflect uncompromising standards of quality, management and care” says Capt. Vinay Partwardan, COO of TCCHK, “ECO Insight will now be part of our management system to ensure that we continue to deliver operational excellence in the quest to preserve environmental excellence, after our ISO 14001 Certification.”
“We are proud to support a quality tanker and bulker company in its strive to further improve fleet performance” comments Dr. Torsten Büssow, DNV GLs Head of Fleet Performance Management, “we look forward to working together with them to deliver tangible results.”
DNV GLs performance management portal ECO Insight provides a comprehensive and easily accessible way to manage the performance of a fleet, including voyage, hull & propeller, engine & systems performance. It enriches customers’ own fleet reports with industry data, such as Automatic Identification System (AIS), weather, or fuel, and provides unique benchmarking capabilities.
Advanced engineering methods, for example hull fouling prediction based on CFD, are also packaged into the portal. The portal comes with an on-board vessel reporting system called Navigator Insight. It ensures high quality data collection on board through smart plausibility checks against specific vessel particulars.
Launched at the end of 2014, more than 400 vessels are already part of DNV GLs fleet performance management service.
