World-leading energy experts discuss how to accelerate the global energy transition in new series of DNV GL’s Talks Energy podcast

ARNHEM, Netherlands, 5 December 2019 – DNV GL, the world’s largest resource of independent energy experts, is today launching the eighth series of its popular Talks Energy podcast, speaking to the world’s leading energy experts about how to accelerate the global energy transition.

The new series will explore the key themes of policy, technology and investment and their role in the global discussion on climate change. Speakers from around the world offer their insights and thoughts on how governments, business leaders and wider society can help with a faster shift towards a renewable future.

The series includes interviews with notable thought leaders from The International Energy Agency, Bloomberg New Energy Finance, Edison Electric Institute, Total Energy, Vestas, Sindicatum Blockchain Technologies, Bird and Bird LLP and the Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA, as well as leading energy experts from within DNV GL.

Episode One of the new series launches today with Remi Eriksen, DNV GL’s Group President and CEO, exploring the key findings from the company’s recent Energy Transition Outlook 2019 report, including the role technology is playing in closing the global emissions gap.

The Podcast gives energy professionals, sustainability experts and journalists access to what these companies are doing to harness the new, collective focus on climate emergency in order to progress the energy transition.

DNV GL Talks Energy invites the world’s leading energy experts to share their insights and opinions on what is needed to accelerate change, with an aim to inspire, educate and motivate senior decision makers into action and help facilitate the energy transition.

Published weekly, in a short format designed to inform and inspire, each episode will be  hosted by Mathias Steck, Executive Vice President, DNV GL – Energy, who will be asking guests about the latest trends in renewable energy and what can be done to accelerate the shift to a low-carbon future. This series includes interviews on climate policy and regulation, investment, wind and solar energy, electric vehicles and innovation and digitalization.

The new series builds on the great success of the DNV GL Talks Energy podcast, which has previously featured a long line of distinguished speakers from companies and organisations such as Shell New Energies, Engie, EDF Energy, Microsoft, the World Bank and Schneider Electric.
