Challenges

Safe design, siting, construction and operation are crucial for LNG bunkering stations and requires the presence of approved models to accurately predict the behaviour of LNG at transfer hoses failures. Currently there are no realistic experiments to verify and validate the models.

Solution

The JIP aims to provide essential experimental data to improve the physical LNG models applied by means of experimental validation of ruptures and punctures of LNG transfer hoses. This will improve physical models of LNG applied in simulation software based on experimental validation of simulations of ruptures, punctures of LNG transfer hoses.
