Microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC) is a significant problem in oil and gas, chemical processing, marine, aviation, and other industries that reduces asset integrity and drives up mitigation costs. MIC often occurs where abiotic corrosion mechanisms are also possible, therefore an accurate diagnosis of MIC is vital for making effective and cost-efficient mitigation decisions.
