Management and inspection of Cathodic Protection (CP) systems of offshore assets can be costly and time consuming. The performance of CP systems whether governed by sacrificial anodes or impressed current systems change as an asset ages. Improperly protected assets can lead to premature corrosion or structural integrity issues, or costly maintenance and retrofits.

This webinar presents an innovative approach, utilizing simulation and remote monitoring techniques to improve inspection efficiency, and prolong asset life.

Watch this webinar to learn more about:

  • Uses of Boundary Element Analysis (BEA) modeling in corrosion applications
  • Benefits of BEA coupled with remote monitoring inspection
  • Validating BEA models with inspection data
  • Forecasting CP performance for system diagnostics and prognostics
  • Validated simulation to support decision making and life extension

Applicable Assets:

  • Offshore platforms
  • Subsea pipelines and terminals
  • Semi-Submersibles
  • FPSOs
  • Ships

Target Audience:

The webinar is applicable to offshore oil and gas operators, managers, and engineers.

About the Presenters:

Shane Finneran is a Principal Engineer and Group Lead for the Computational Modeling group in Dublin, Ohio, and is a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Ohio and Utah. His primary work has involved utilizing advanced computational methods to analyze complex problems from corrosion and cathodic protection simulations, to thermal and fracture analyses, for forensic modeling. Mr. Finneran has been with DNV GL for 10 years, working in corrosion and integrity analyses for oil and gas facilities and pipelines, pressure vessels, and offshore structures.

Justin Gossard is an engineer in DNV GL Oil & Gas North America and a Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Ohio. His uses advanced computational methods (FEA, BEA) to aid in failure analysis, structural and  corrosion modeling, and fitness-for-service analyses.
