The report ‘Cost Comparison between Centralised and Micro-Distributed Renewable Generation’ highlights the impact of regional boundary conditions such as renewable sources available and electrification maturity on the cost estimation differences in an established power system, additional system integration costs (i.e. the sum of additional back-up capacity and network integration costs) are rather low for new decentralised generation and renewable centralised generation, compared to the CAPEX and OPEX costs of such power systems.
