Hurricanes, storm surge, winter storms, and other severe weather events throughout the world have led to extensive power system damage in recent years. Climate change is expected to lead to changes in the frequency, intensity, extent, and duration of severe weather events, and may result in unprecedented impacts on electricity infrastructure in the future.
