DNV GL has developed a Proactive Methodology for studying the integration of distributed renewable generation and storage on the electric utility grid.

This methodology is validated and accepted by utilities and regulators in Hawaii and California and applied in distribution studies for island utilities within the Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation (CARILEC). With the implementation of the proactive methodology, every utility can reliably determine penetration limits, plan system upgrades, and meet customer demand for new services in the most efficient and effective manner.
