Managing Alarm Systems in Healthcare

Surgery and monitor

How can the management of alarm systems in healthcare be improved? Alarm hazards have been identified as the number one health technology hazard in 2015. The lack of integration of different alarm systems in a clinical environment has led to critical problems that compromise patient safety. In our project called Management of Alarm Systems in Healthcare (MASH), we investigate problems and explore possible solutions for the management of healthcare alarm safety by conducting literature review and interviews with stakeholders.
