The value of certification is not in the certificate alone. It is also in in the execution and evaluation of the tests performed and data acquired that can tell you so much about your products. As an independent lab with over 80 years of experience, we conduct tests to the highest levels of expertise and impartiality in accordance with international standards. This ensures you receive a certificate whose worth is recognised throughout the industry.

KEMA Laboratories – USA is accredited by the American Association of Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) to ISO/IEC 17025 standard. It is also a member of the Short-Circuit Testing Liaison of The Nations of The Americas (STLNA). We provide test certificates and reports for testing performed in accordance with IEEE, IEC, UL, CSA, and ANSI standards.

Improving quality through real-world testing

Our experience in type testing medium and high voltage components shows that testing and certification according to international standards is an effective way to improve quality.

For instance, the initial failure rate is a key indicator of how a component’s quality is evolving. Often, these failure rates remain high despite efforts to improve design, quality assurance, handling and manufacturing.

This is where certification based on physical testing rather than calculations and schematics makes a difference. It provides insights into component behaviour and potential improvements. It also gives manufacturers and end-users confidence that equipment works in reality, not just in theory.
