Medium voltage metal enclosed switchgear testing
DNV GL provides world-renowned testing and certification of metal enclosed switchgear according to international standards such as IEC 62271-200 and IEEE C37.20.7
DNV GL’s world-renowned testing and certification services provide independent proof that your metal enclosed switchgear meets all the necessary requirements, opening doors to let you export products across the globe.
We test and certify complete medium voltage metal enclosed switchgear against recognised international standards such as IEC 62271-200 and IEEE C37.20.7. Our efficient test methodology helps to reduce testing costs, while our facilities in the Netherlands, USA and Czech Republic accurately simulate the operating and fault conditions equipment faces in the field. In addition, we can act as an independent witness for on-site tests.
Range of tests
- Short circuit tests
- Dielectric tests
- Temperature rise tests
- Mechanical tests
- Internal arc tests
- Tightness tests
Tests can be performed from 16 2/3 to 60hz.
Internationally recognised certification
Depending on the range of tests chosen, successful switchgear will receive a KEMA Type Test Certificate. This internationally accepted Certificate is evidence that your product meets all the requirements of the defined standard or specification. The range of KEMA Type Test Certificates for medium voltage metal enclosed switchgear includes:
- KEMA Type Test Certificate of Complete Type Tests
- KEMA Type Test Certificate of Short-Circuit and Making and Breaking Performance
- KEMA Type Test Certificate of Dielectric Performance
- KEMA Type Test Certificate of Temperature-rise Performance
Alternatively, you can choose to receive a Report of Performance or an Inspection Report. These reports describe the tests conducted, but do not provide evidence that equipment meets a certain standard or specification.
