Healthcare is too often fragmented and based on an outdated 'fix-it' model, where health services are designed to wait for someone to become acutely ill before intervening.
It is unable to meet the needs arising from ageing populations and a growing burden of chronic diseases. As a result it is unsafe and unsustainable. The objective is to develop and test healthcare standards that adds value to safety and quality by addressing the full cycle of care.
Healthcare faces significant threats to its sustainability. Ageing populations, the pandemic of chronic diseases, rising costs and a poor safety record are major challenges faced by all countries.
DNV GL is committed to working with patients and partners from healthcare, health policy and research to develop new solutions. To this end, we are co-creating new standards and resources for integrated care that will reduce fragmentation and increase the capacity of healthcare to increase its efficiency and effectiveness.
