Byron Quan Luna
Dr Quan Luna is a principal researcher in DNV GL's Climate Action programme, and is involved in Risk-based Adaptation to Climate Change and Enhanced Data Analytics.
His main activity concerns the application, improvement and optimization of the use of modeling tools applied in a quantitative risk assessment, focusing on the parameterization of the models, and the analysis of uncertainty. For these activities, several techniques and tools are applied such as geographical information systems (GIS), risk analysis, and dynamic modeling.
Dr Quan Luna obtained a PhD degree in Geosciences and Geo-Informatics from The Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) - University of Twente (UT) in The Netherlands. He has a Master’s Degree in Environmental Geology and Geohazards from the Department of Geosciences, University of Oslo, Norway. Dr Quan Luna has also been involved, both as lecturer and participant, in different workshops and intensive courses across countries including Italy, Spain, Austria, Nicaragua, France, Norway (University of Oslo), The Netherlands, USA, Switzerland and Germany.
