Dr Vidyunmala Veldore currently holds a position as Senior Climate Researcher in the Climate Action program at DNV GL.
Veldore has over 16 years of experience in global and regional climate models, uncertainty analysis, and evaluation of model performance at different spatio-temporal scales for diverse climate regimes. Her expertise also lies in linking the climate science information to impact and vulnerability assessment through developing useful climate indices, extreme event assessments, and understanding storms and their influence on coastal regions using hydrodynamic modeling tools. Veldore holds a Phd and Masters degree in Climate Sciences/Modeling from the Indian Institute of Science, has published more than 10 peer-reviewed journal articles and has contributed to three book publications. She has also tutored in many learning programs: both online courses on the application of Bayesian methods to climate research, and as a resource for the Global Development Learning Network and many other programs in India and abroad. Her current work explores the understanding of climate model uncertainties, regional downscaling, and development of new appropriate climate indices, as well as providing tailored climate services for project partners.
