Our Company Security Officer course is delivered over 4 days and designed to meet the requirements set out in Part A of the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code, whilst acknowledging the guidance provided through Part B of the Code and relevant UK legislation. 

The course syllabus incorporates security arrangements and effective practices, both on board ship and through the necessary interface between a ship, its operating Company and the relevant Port Facilities the vessel visits.  

The role and responsibilities of the Company Security officer are fully addressed and this training is essential to anyone appointed the responsibility of managing fleet security, thereby ensuring;

  • Ship Security Assessments are carried out and Ship Security Plans developed
  • The submission for approval and thereafter, implementation and maintenance of the Ship Security Plans
  • Security awareness and vigilance remains high through effective need for security communication and co-operation between ship's crew, company personnel and contracting governments
  • Internal audits and review of security activities are regularly carried out.
