The course focuses on:

  • Basic principles of drilling vessel design
    - Drilling semi-submersible
    - Drill ship's
    - Self-elevating units
  • Rules, Regulations, Classification of drillship
  • Hull Girder Capacity (yield, buckling)
  • Fatigue Assessment
  • Structural design for structural categories (special/primary/secondary)
  • Hull interface (moonpool area, substructure)
