DNV GL Posidonia

Today’s market needs smarter solutions – and a classification partner who understands your needs in Greece and around the world. DNV GL is your partner, offering a long relationship with the Greek shipping industry that goes back almost 100 years.

After almost 20 years working in South Korea and China, Ioannis Chiotopoulos returned to Greece in the summer of 2015 and took on his new position as Regional Manager.

A marine engineer and naval architect by education, Ioannis Chiotopoulos joined DNV GL in 2000, after several years of working experience at Greek shipping companies.

He has held a variety of positions within the company, such as, Fleet in Service and Newbuilding Surveyor, Site Manager, Newbuilding Production Manager and District/Area Manager in Greece, South Korea and China.

Greece, and Piraeus in particular, is unique in the maritime world: nowhere else is there such a great concentration of shipping companies. For this reason, we have advanced our office in Piraeus by deepening local skills and competences for our Greek customers, to deliver an expanded and enhanced service portfolio. This will help us to remain the Greek maritime community’s preferred classification partner. Our customers are at home in Greece, and so are we.
