SA-00 Phast 'Getting Started' e-learning

SA-01 Phast 'Getting Started' e-learning

The starter course introduces the key concepts and covers the basics of consequence modelling within Phast software.

Description

Upon completion of this course, you will understand and be able to use Phast process hazard analysis software for a simple analysis. You will be able to create a scenario from scratch, modelling the effects of releases of hazardous material from initial discharge, through dispersion to final flammable and toxic effects. You will also be able to review and understand results.  This e-learning will get you started on your journey with Phast and will provide a valuable foundation for the more “in depth” courses which follow.

Target group

New and returning users who need a quick introduction or refresher to carry out consequence modelling calculations in the process industries including safety analysts, operators, process design engineers, regulators and legislators, insurance companies, engineering contractors and consultants.

On-demand e-learning, taking about half-a-day elapsed but spread over 3 days. It begins with a live instructor introduction, then pre-recorded videos which can be done at your own pace, then finally a live closeout Q&A session.

Prerequisite:

The course is suitable for new users and for more experienced users who have not attended a formal training course or would like a refresher course. A basic understanding of hazard analysis and the concept of consequence modelling is useful but not essential, as is some experience of the process industry.
